Vidder`s note: So. Ok. Actually, I don’t even know where to start.
First, I always wanted to vid some David Usher’s song, just haven’t heard any good, except of those that are already have been vided. So when I found this song, I was very happy, because I felt like I could do something with this deeper meaning. Sort of.
Anyway, I guess now I really should write about each scene, each song line, and the whole story.
Basically, it’s this kinda tragic story, and yeah – it’s a death video. Anyway, The Winchester boys are in the hospital. Let’s pretend they were seriously injured (no matter how) and they are both in coma. And in this dream-world they are all alone, in the empty house, where they have each other and nothing else. Meanwhile the doctors try to rescue them.
Dean thinks that Sam’s dying, he like feel it, and Sam asks him to let him go, because if he doesn’t do it, they’ll stay there, in this dream empty world, like forever.
But then Dean has this something and he really doesn’t know what it is, he feel pain in the chest, and it was actually the blast from the real world.
When everything comes to their places, it’s Sam who survived, and Dean who...
Well, you know the rest.
Speaking about the story and the song, I should mention that I really loved the title. It was the reason I listened this song in the first place, and then I liked the whole song.
I think it’s beginning to freeze here - I really liked that line. It’s full of emotions, and I put on that line just boys’ close up, because their faces told everything on that moment.
I'm fumbling through like a child in the dark - that one was so about Sam. And I really liked that flash-back scene. Thanks to
_hopefullness_ for giving me such a nice advice ;) I also really liked the blend of the to similar scenes, from their childhood and from 101. I think just looking on these two images you can imagine what life they live.
Then, on the musical part of the song, I really liked that scene, because it was them. Dean, trying to get lost in this house, in his memories and feelings, and Sam, who always wanted to be with his brother, he’s trying to find him and do something.
This helplessness suits us
Funny how quiet has slipped to our corners
Worn all our edges away
You are watching breathing and baiting
Wanting and warming and cautiously waiting - this is actually my favorite part from the whole video. Because really – it was made accidentally, but when I was rewatching the video, I feel so...sad, and I think this is a really angsty moment, because Dean was so lost in his own thoughts, and he was scared, and Sam was there, he found him, and he dragged him out of this fear.
...and oh did I mention
I carried you down to the St. Lawrence River
The banks running dirty the water's beginning to freeze here - well, for me this lines have some personal meaning. I don’t know, but I just needed to put the deal scene on these lines, and show what Dean made for Sam, what he was ready to do. How he almost lost his little brother, and how he brought him back to life, no matter what I cost.
Solid by morning
And I'll freeze here
Winter by morning - that’s when Sam started to ask Dean to let him go, because he really didn’t what them to lost in this place.
And then, after something that happened to Dean, they are back to hospital. Just to show that they are not actually dead :\
And the other one of my favorite scene from this video was "the goodbye scene", as I called it, because all those faces, and looks, and...*sighs*
And before you ask me, why 705, I can answer that, too.
All started with The Rasmus song called 705. It’s pretty dark and slow (1999 version), and the lyrics are dark too, and I really liked it. And when Lauri (the lead singer) explained why he called this song 705, he said that it’s just the number of life, because that song is about death.
So, this video called 705, because 705 – it’s just the number of life, Life #705, and, apparently, it’s number of Dean’s life. It’s his story, how he lived, who he loved, and how he died.
And YES. There IS a wincest version of this vid, but I guess no one will ever see it, because…Ok, just cause (c)
Hope you like it, and even more I hope you understand it.
Feedback iz lyv! ^^
Lyrics:
Smells on the air
See there it's crushing the final impression
The stains on the paper
Where words fell like water
Unearth all the changes that never did matter
I think it's beginning to freeze here
Caught in the rage and the fire of things
All the brightness that burns me
I'm fumbling through like a child in the dark
When the nakedness comes
I am shocked by the colour the glorious weight of your skin
Comes alive
And I never thought we'd make it back so soon
Might be nice
But I knew you'd be your own destroyer
Comes a time
And I always thought I'd make it up to you
Here please forgive me
Could we escape all the bitterness piled upon bitterness
Held in the face of the things that I don't understand
Intellectualize over and over
This helplessness suits us
Funny how quiet has slipped to our corners
Worn all our edges away
You are watching breathing and baiting
Wanting and warming and cautiously waiting
For some simple signal to creep cross your conscience
Uncover redemption and oh did I mention
I carried you down to the St. Lawrence River
The banks running dirty the water's beginning to freeze here
Solid by morning
And I'll freeze here
Winter by morning
Comes a lie
And I never thought you'd get me back so soon
Might be nice
But it's only if my own destroyer
Comes alive
And I always knew I'd make it up to you
I saw on your face such a curious grin
As I let go your hand
I was desperate to hold you again
But you're sinking so deep in the water
Outsmarted myself and so easily gave up what I wanted
Solid by morning
What I wanted
Winter by morning
Comes alive
And I never thought you'd make it up so soon
Night be nice
But I always knew you're my destroyer
Comes a time
And I always thought I'd make it up to you
Solid by morning
And I'll freeze here
Winter by morning
